TELUS is one of Canada’s largest national telecommunications companies, offering mobile, internet, TV, voice and smart home solutions for consumers, businesses and the public sector. Known for innovation, network leadership and community investment, TELUS serves tens of millions of customer connections coast to coast.
With more than 200 stores and a single SKU changing up to four times a month, TELUS staff were printing and cutting new price labels every day to keep up in a highly competitive pricing industry. Tens of thousands of hours went to manual updates, slowing time to market and leading to pricing discrepancies and errors in store.
Shelf Edge Solutions presented a straightforward and confident approach to automating pricing across TELUS stores. As new needs surfaced during discovery, the team adapted the solution and accommodated the nuances of a large national organization. Powered by SoluM ESL, more than 6,000 electronic shelf labels were rolled out to 204 locations across Canada in winter 2024.
Day to day store involvement in pricing has dropped by over 98%, giving front line staff more time to focus on selling and high priority tasks without worrying about pricing accuracy. Price changes now happen in near real time, so mismatches between the shelf and the POS system are close to zero, reducing awkward pricing conversations with customers. The durable digital displays have also saved hundreds of thousands of printed pages and the toner that goes with them.
